Our Approach

Find Your Risk Profile

Find Your Risk Profile

The correct balance between investment risk and reward is a highly personal decision for you.

That balance can evolve as circumstances change. In over 40 years of experience of developing individual, bespoke portfolios, Barry Fleming & Partners encourage clients to understand the balance between their personal financial risk appetite and investment return expectations. In order to do this each client completes an assessment of their personal financial risk tolerance which is then correlated to their objectives and expectations. This is a fundamental building block of the advice process.

We take the time to ensure our clients are comfortable with their risk profile through our 3-pronged approach:

1. Assessment of income needs versus capital growth objectives which will determine, in broad terms, the investment product types it would be prudent to include in your portfolio.

2. Consideration of the level of risk of any particular investment from none through low, medium and high risk through to speculative; how it may fluctuate in value; and the view (prudent period of time) you should hold the investment, i.e. the liquidity factor.

3. We manage risk on an ongoing basis by ensuring that, whatever changes may occur, our clients maintain at all times a flexible, balanced, portfolio reflecting their prevailing risk profile in the context of their evolving capital and income objectives.

There is an enormous range of product types we can recommend to suit your risk profile. Click here to see examples along with their risk and liquidity factors.
